WREG aired a segment about the engagement of Harold Ford Jr.to a woman named Emily Threlkeld. The focus of the segment was how people might react to the engagement of an African-American man to a Caucasian woman. Am I missing something here? Although there will be some grumblings from ‘haters’ on both sides, how is this newsworthy? Just covering this ’story’ gives it a degree of undeserved credibility.
